Rúbia Salgado works in adult education, on cultural projects, and as a writer in self-organized contexts. The focus of her activities lies in the field of critical educational and cultural work in migration society. She is currently working on research and development projects in the field of adult education for migrants as a teacher (German as a second language, literacy skills, political education, educational projects in the cultural field) and as the director of educational work with migrants at MAIZ. She is a co-founder and staff member of MAIZ, an independent association organized by and for migrant women with the aim of improving the living and working conditions of migrant women in Austria, promoting their political and cultural participation, and bringing about changes to unjust social conditions. MAIZ works in the following areas: adult education, cultural work, advising and assisting migrant women, research.
